The tower is open for tours on weekends and holidays.

Assuming a once-in-a-millennium tsunami, tsunami evacuation towers have been placed to enable evacuation from hazardous areas on the hazard map within 5 minutes. Of the 15 towers, 5 are the nation's first pedestrian bridge-type evacuation towers.
This disaster prevention measure is attracting attention from both domestic and international audiences.

A city park centered around a castle, overflowing with historical romance.
Known affectionately by the locals as "Taiko-san's Castle," it is also famous as a cherry blossom viewing spot.
It warmly watches over the city of Osaka, both in times of peace and emergency.

Kotohiki Mountain is located in Kan-onji City, Kagawa Prefecture, with an elevation of approximately 70 meters.
The area in front of Juo-do, the approach stairs, the area in front of the main hall, and the summit observatory are designated as emergency evacuation sites.
From near the summit, you can view the famous Zenigata Sunae (sand drawing).

During normal times, local voluntary disaster prevention organizations offer paid programs, and the revenue is used to purchase supplies for the tsunami evacuation tower.
Nearby, whale watching and surfing are popular activities. The town is gaining attention as a hub for disaster prevention tourism.​

A cylindrical tsunami evacuation tower designed to easily deflect debris carried by tsunamis.
The area around the 1st Tsunami Evacuation Tower has been selected as a nationally important cultural landscape area. Designed to harmonize with the surrounding scenery, it received the Good Design Award in 2016.
The tower is open as an observation deck even during normal times.

A four-story cultural complex located in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, featuring halls, museums, and ateliers.​
It integrates the functions of the Ishinomaki Cultural Center and Ishinomaki Civic Hall, both of which were damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
It serves as a symbol of Ishinomaki's recovery, inheriting and developing the iconic landscape of the early Showa period, characterized by buildings with triangular roofs.​

An evolved version of the traditional "Inochiyama," an artificial mound (Tsukiyama) used for tsunami evacuation, developed with modern technology.
As an earthen structure, it is a semi-permanent facility,​and is used as a park during normal times, making it popular among citizens.
The disaster prevention function of "Inochiyama" has gained renewed attention and is spreading not only in Fukuroi City but nationwide.

A white lighthouse located at Rokkosaki, the northernmost tip of the Noto Peninsula, designed solely by Japanese engineers during the Meiji era.​
As it is unmanned, the interior of the lighthouse is not open for tours (it is open to the public a few times a year).
It was selected as one of the "50 Best Lighthouses in Japan" in 1998 and was designated as a "Heritage of Industrial Modernization" in 2009.The plateau of Rokugosaki Lighthouse is designated as a tsunami evacuation site.

Cape Soya Park, famous for the "Monument of Japan's Northernmost Point" at latitude 45°31'22" N.
The park features numerous places dedicated to world peace, such as the "Tower of Prayer" and the "Peace Monument,“ and is also known as “Cape Soya Peace Park."
Due to being an area with poor reception for emergency disaster radios, a relay station was established in 2019.

An information center centered around a multipurpose hall, located a 5-minute walk from Ryotsu Port, the main gateway to Sado Island.​
It is widely used for international conferences, seminars, social gatherings, cooking events, flea markets, and more.

A tsunami evacuation site located in Beach Park, a beach sports zone where you can enjoy the charm of the Shonan Sea year-round.​ It is used as an observation deck during normal times.
To allow visitors to enjoy the scenery of Hiratsuka Beach, it has a roof and benches on the second floor.

Alongside Kenrokuen, Kanazawa Castle stands as a cultural symbol of Kanazawa.
Maeda Toshiie entered the castle in 1583, and it served as the residence of the Maeda family, the lords of the Kaga Domain, for 14 generations until 1869.
​As a symbol of Ishikawa Prefecture, alongside Kenrokuen, it conveys culture, history, and tradition to future generations.
The Shimmaru Plaza within Kanazawa Castle is designated as an evacuation facility.

As part of efforts to eliminate areas difficult to evacuate from tsunamis, it was completed in 2017. The tower is opened only in emergencies, but its exterior can be viewed as a tourist attraction.​
On the top floor, it is equipped with blankets, blue tarps, radios, toilet sets, toilet paper, and other supplies.

Nijo-jo Castle was built by Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1603 (Keicho 8) as a residence for the Shogun when he visited Kyoto and to protect the Kyoto Imperial Palace. It served as the Tokugawa Shogunate's base in Kyoto.
It was the site of meetings between Ieyasu and Toyotomi Hideyori, and in 1867, the 15th Shogun Yoshinobu declared the restoration of imperial rule here.​
It was registered as a World Cultural Heritage site in 1994.​

Developed in a hilly area as a community recreation spot.
It features tennis courts and a baseball field with night lighting, and the modern-looking gymnasium allows for futsal and archery.
​The park also includes a large playground with equipment and an observation deck.

A vast comprehensive park centered around Lake Tokiwa.
The park features 3,500 cherry trees and approximately 20,000 irises of about 140 varieties, allowing visitors to enjoy various flowers throughout the seasons.
Attractions such as "Tokiwa Zoo," "The World Travel Botanical Garden," and "Tokiwa Amusement Park" are located within the park, making it impossible to fully explore in just one day.

In the Mejima area, which is within the tsunami inundation zone, there are no elevated areas for emergency evacuation and few tsunami evacuation buildings.
Therefore, an artificial tsunami evacuation facility, the Tsunami Evacuation Tower, was constructed.​It is locked during normal times, but in case of emergency evacuation, part of the door on the first floor entrance can be broken to unlock and enter.

A five-story emergency evacuation tower, affectionately known by local residents as the "Tower of Safety," protecting lives from tsunami disasters.
During normal times, the first floor serves as a fire station warehouse,​the second floor is a meeting place for local residents, and the third floor displays photos and disaster prevention materials related to the Southeast Nankai Earthquake tsunami disaster, serving as a venue for raising disaster awareness.

The only roadside station in Japan with an attached sea turtle conservation facility.
In addition to purchasing local products, it is a free-entry facility where anyone can observe sea turtles. A disaster prevention tower has been constructed on the adjacent site.
Together with the existing roadside station, it is expected to serve as an evacuation site in emergencies.

The cultural hall and plaza within the premises are designated as evacuation sites.
Caution is needed during emergency evacuations as the area near the castle and stone walls may collapse.
During normal times, visitors can feel the romance of history from the magnificent castle, which features the castle construction style of the Azuchi-Momoyama period with strategically placed turrets.
